We FINALLY made it home! We drove 16 hours on Thursday night/Friday morning to get to Washington DC. We crammed in a ton of sightseeing on Friday night and Saturday morning, and then went to our friend's wedding on Saturday night. Sunday we went to church, battled the rain and the crowds to see The National Museum of Natural History, and then we drove 18.5 hours on Sunday night/Monday morning to get home. Emerson and Stella did great...they slept most of the way there and home! They also did great while we were sightseeing, and were party animals at the wedding reception. Emerson is crawling and trying to pull herself up. Stella is sitting up really well and is still working on crawling.

July 23rd, 2008

I know it has been a while since we have posted...sorry! We have been really busy. The girls attended their buddy Dominic's first birthday party on Sunday, and then James and I went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We also went in to my grandma's this week to help her out around her house, and the girls had a great time hanging out with her. Tomorrow, we will be leaving to go to Washington D.C. for a friend's wedding...we might be crazy! Emerson is into everything. She loves floor vents and curtains and anything else that she shouldn't have! She is crawling like a maniac and trying to climb on everything. Stella got a second tooth on Monday! She has been pretty fussy. Who knows, maybe she is working on a third tooth! She is still working on crawling, but she is a lot more laid back than Emerson.

Stella got her first tooth yesterday. After several tries, James was able to get a picture of it. Here it is:

July 13th, 2008

We decided to make one more trip to Indiana to visit family and friends before summer ends and James has to go back to work. We left late Wednesday night, and the girls slept the ENTIRE way! It was incredible! James' mom threw a "meet the twins party" for family and friends that haven't had the opportunity to spend much time with the girls. The party went great, and the girls loved all of the attention. They are both sitting up independently for several minutes, and they are still working on crawling. Our girls are getting so big! We went to developmental clinic last week and they were both weighed and measured. Stella weighed 16 lbs 4 oz and was 25 inches long! Emerson weighed 16 lbs 9 oz and was 26 inches long. For their adjusted age (6 months) that puts Stella in the 50th percentile and Emerson in the 75th percentile! We are so proud of our big girls! The girls aslo had developmental testing done. Stella scored right at her adjusted age (6 months) in all of the categories (cognitive, language, fine motor, gross motor.) So Stella is right where she should be! Emerson scored at 6 months for language, 8 months for fine motor, and 7 months for gross motor! Which means that Emerson is a little bit ahead of her adjusted age for motor skills. We have two truly amazing baby girls! They have been through so much and haven't fallen behind!
