Emerson and Stella's Auntie Amanda (Mommy's dear friend) sent the girls their first American Girl dolls. They are Bitty Babies, and they have brown hair and brown eyes just like the girls. Emerson loves baby dolls, and was very willing to cuddle both babies! Stella discovered her baby's eye lashes, and enjoyed playing with them. Stella has also discovered her own eyes, and will point to them if you ask her to!

Around the middle of last week we realized that both of the girls had gotten their top molars! Stella handled it pretty well, but Emerson ended up running a fairly high fever for a few days and had to go back to the doctor. The doctor put her back on antibiotics and said that her ear infections/previous illness wasn't completely gone. She is slowly improving, but we think they are both cutting more teeth.
We had both of the girls weighed when we were at the doctor. Stella weighed more than Emerson at birth, but after her heart surgery she got far enough behind that she has had a hard time catching up. Well, Emerson's illness finally gave Stella the opportunity she needed. Stella weighed 19lbs 2oz! Emerson lost nearly a pound and weighed 18lbs 8oz. We are glad that Stella is gaining weight so well, but we are definitely disappointed about Emerson's weight loss. We will go back to the doctor in a few weeks to have her weighed again.
We found out today that the girls will be featured on posters at all 5 of the Central Missouri March for Babies! We are really excited about the opportunity to share our story. We want to thank everyone who has joined our team, and those who have donated money. We are still hoping to get more family and friends to join our team. We are excited to share an awesome day with our family and friends and celebrate the lives of Emerson and Stella!

I FINALLY got a picture of them holding hands! We catch them holding hands a lot in the car seats and the highchairs. They also seem to be developing their own language.

Emerson brought her baby to lunch, and refused to put her down. Now the baby needs a bath!

Cheesy smiles!

We weren't sure if we needed to buy the girls new swimming suits, so we decided to try on some of our suits that were too big last year. Here are the girls modeling their tankinis:
Stella was really proud of her tankini!

Emerson wasn't as excited.

The girls are finally feeling better! Emerson has finally decided that walking is better than crawling, and is walking most of the time. Emerson has also started saying "Yeah." Stella is still "knee walking" and is getting really good at it! She is trying to take steps, and our physical therapist is pleased with her progress. Stella babbles nonstop and is eating anything you put in front of her!

Silly girls

I was cuddling with Stella while she took her sippy, and Emerson came over and laid right on top of us!

Pudge (William) and "Uncle Jimmy" (Don't get any ideas, only nieces and nephews are allowed to call him Uncle Jimmy.)

Kayla with Pudge. They are both doing really well. Pudge eats and sleeps!

February 10th, 2009

Things have gotten a little bit crazy for us this past week. Both of the girls have been sick, James has been super busy with basketball, and Kayla had her baby. Emerson woke up wheezing last Wednesday morning, and we took her to the doctor that same morning. They originally thought she had RSV, but thankfully she didn't! She had a double ear infection, but didn't run a fever or act sick. If she hadn't had the respiratory problems, we wouldn't have known she was sick. Stella ended up getting sick a few days later. We think she picked something up in the doctor's office. They are both back on the nebulizer for now. We have decided to keep the girls in as much as possible for the rest of RSV season. We have come too far to get RSV now! Here are some silly pictures from this week:

More silliness

Kayla had William August on 2/9/09. He weighed 9lbs 6oz and was 23 1/4 inches long! BIG BOY! We are calling him Pudge! Kayla, Wade and Pudge are all doing very well.
