We don't have much news right now. Everybody here is busy but good! Here are some pictures from today:

The girls got weighed and measured today on a different scale. We definitely like this scale better than the one at the doctor's office! Emerson weighed 17lbs 7oz and was 28.5 inches long! Stella weighed 16lbs 14oz and was 27 inches long! They are big girls! They both seem to be feeling better and have been much happier. Stella has 4 teeth coming in on the top (all at once.) Her teeth look so big in her little mouth. It is really cute! Emerson is working on her second tooth on the bottom. They have also started eating braunsweiger and cream cheese for lunch. I think it smells like cat food, but they love it. We call it German Delight! The girls love to harass Mamaw Ruth's dog, Russell. We took the girls to the pediatrician today for their 12 month check up and shots. They haven't had any shots since March, and it is not as easy as it used to be. They don't like to hold still or be held down and both of things are required for shots. They also got weighed and measured. I was really hoping they would be 18lbs, and James wanted them to be 20lbs. We aren't very good at guessing anymore! Emerson weighed 16lbs 6oz and was 27 3/4 inches long. Stella weighed 16lbs 2oz and was 26 1/4 inches long. We still aren't on the growth chart for 12 month height and weight, but we are getting closer. Hopefully, we will be on the chart when we go back in December. BUT they are both on the growth chart for their head circumferences! Emerson is in the 75th percentile for 12 month, and Stella is in the 50th percentile for 12 month! That is a pretty big deal! They are both doing fine on the growth chart if you adjust their age for prematurity (8 months.) We also stopped by the NICU for a visit before we went to the doctor's office. It was great to see everybody, and to show off our girls.

James wanted to go over to Dennis and Sharlla Brandwein's house tonight to go squirrel hunting. Since we were going to be over there anyway, I asked Sharlla to take some 12 month pictures of the girls. We were already planning on having her take family pictures when the leaves start to change, so we weren't too worried about getting perfect pictures. Well, apparently the girls have decided that they like to have their pictures taken again. Every picture Sharlla took was great! Here are a few of my favorites:

Over the weekend we celebrated Emerson and Stella's first birthday! It is hard to believe it has been a year since the day they surprised us. We have been experiencing a lot of different emotions over the last week. We are so proud of our big, healthy girls, and we are so thankful that we have big, healthy girls. However, it is very difficult to celebrate the day they were born without also remembering all of the uncertainty and fear that accompanied their premature birth. We are so grateful to everyone who helped us get through the last year. We were constantly surrounded with love, prayers, and support. So we want to thank everyone that has helped us get through the hard times, and can now share in our joy! THANK YOU! Here are a few pictures from the girls' party. (We didn't have many pictures on our camera.) I will post more pictures as I get them.

Emerson finally got her first tooth! I am pretty sure it came in on Saturday, but we didn't notice it until Sunday. She won't let me get a picture of her tooth (I tried!)
