The girls had another great day. They are both still handling their feedings well. They have also gained weight. The nurses say that gaining a half ounce to an ounce every day is good. They both gained almost an ounce since yesterday! They will be 1 month old this Thursday. It's hard to believe it's already been a month. I've been telling people that this has been the longest, fastest month of my life (if that makes sense). I can't wait to see how they grow in the week to come. We are so thankful for all of our family and friends, you have all been great. We are so blessed to have all of you in our lives.

It's really hard to top a day like yesterday. The girls had to be separated because they were being stinkers and were pulling leads and tubes off of each other, but it was really cool seeing them together. Stella had to go back on the nose respirator because she had a few little episodes and they didn't want to wear her down too much. Emerson was upgraded to the nose respirator and did well for a few hours and then decided she wanted to go back on the chest tube vent. Emerson also needs to have some antibiotics for a possible infection so they had to put an IV back in. However, as you can tell in the picture, they couldn't get any veins in her arms or legs to take the IV, so they had to put it in her forehead! It's kind of weird looking but apparently it's pretty common practice. Other than that the girls are doing well and both weigh a little over 1lb 13 oz, so they're definitely gaining. Keep praying for our little girls!!

Today was a wonderful day! Not only were we able to hold Emerson and Stella, but they were put together in the same bed today! They seemed to be very content after being put together. It was so exciting seeing them together. The girls may not be able to stay in the same bed permanently, but we are hoping that it will last for a little while. Emerson may be able to come off of her vent in the next couple of days, and as you can see, the girls have graduated to bigger diapers! Both girls have had their feedings increased as well. Please continue to pray for our family. We have been so blessed, but we still have a long road ahead and go through many ups and downs every day.

This was an interesting day for Emily and I. We didn't go see the girls until I got off work. When we got there the nurses said they hadn't acted up all day and were doing pretty well. It seemed to change when the girls realized we were there. Their monitors started dinging, levels started dropping, and they started throwing fits. It was a little nerve racking but at the same time it was amusing thinking they were putting on a show just for us. Emerson wasn't able to be held because they had to replace her vent tube and she was worn out. I tried to hold Stella, but it seemed she wanted nothing to do with Daddy today...her levels dropped and she had to be put back in her bed. Little attitudes I tell you...they come by it honestly!!!! When we left the room for a little while the nurses said their monitors stopped beeping and they stopped dropping their levels....interesting. Sorry no pics today, we were more concerned with making sure their levels came back up. Please continue to pray for our little girls.

It was another great day for our girls. They are both back up to full feeding and handling it great. Emerson and Stella are starting to get their little personalities and attitudes. It's so fun to watch. It's such a blessing having them in our lives. I could never imagine caring and loving for anyone as much as I do my little girls.(Well of course Emily;) ) Here are a few more pics of my little angels!!

Today was a good day for our little girls. Stella seems to be doing very well with her nasal canulla oxygen. Emerson is doing better with the chest tube vent helping her breathe. They both will be up to full feed by tonight or tomorrow morning. The girls seem to be getting more beautiful everyday. Here are a few pics from today!

Today was a special day for Emily. She got to hold both of the girls at the same time! Emerson finally woke after a couple days and her food has been increased, so good signs! Stella is still doing great. She is on the nasal cannula and we will see how she does with that. Today was a great day! Here are some pics of Mommy holding the girls and Emerson's pretty eyes.
