September 23rd, 2009

Emerson and Stella have taken over a corner of the basement (actually they have taken over our entire house!) I don't think James was very excited about giving up part of his man cave, but it is great for the girls to have a different place to play.

The girls harassing Rambo.

The girls love Rambo so much! They call him "BoBo" and love playing with him. He is going to be 8 years old in a few weeks, but he still acts like a puppy when the girls play with him. He definitely isn't a genius, but he does really well with the girls.

Stella usually looks away when I take her picture, but today she was feeling photogenic! I love this picture!

Emerson got in trouble. So sad.

They were giving each other a kiss in this picture, my camera just isn't fast enough for 2 year olds!

Again, my camera just isn't fast enough!

I almost got both of them to look at the camera at the same time!

James and I both love football, and loved to spend our Sunday afternoons watching football and relaxing before we had the girls. The girls have just started watching television in the last few months and still don't watch it much, but they seemed to enjoy watching football!

Relaxing and watching football with daddy!

The girls had their 24 month check up this morning. Emerson weighed 22lbs and is 33 inches long. Stella weighed 21.7lbs and is 32 inches long! Their heads are still huge too! The doctor was very happy with their growth and said they are doing really well.

These videos are so funny! Emerson is doing some kind of a crazy dance, and Stella is playing catch and saying "Up, Please!" The last video is both of the girls practicing their jumping skills!

We celebrated Emerson and Stella's 2nd birthday tonight! We had a great time with our friends and family, and we are pretty sure that this was the final 2nd birthday party for our girls. We have already been celebrating for about a month!

We opened presents first!

Silly Papaw!

The girls loved the doggy card!

Our soldier came home!

Aunt Brandi made the most amazing birthday cakes! She is very talented!

Ruthi and Stella look like they are playing a pretty serious game of soccer!

How many people does it take to figure out a cash register?!

Emerson hasn't seen Brent very much since he left for the Army in February, but she seemed pretty excited to spend time with him!

They loved the cake!

Thanks Aunt B!

They went straight to the bath tub when they were finished destroying their cakes!

Mamaw Ruth spent the last hour or so assembling toys. Thanks Mamaw Ruth!

The girls don't seem to care that it is a doll stroller!

Thanks Sharlla for taking the awesome photos!

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, EMERSON & STELLA!

We kicked off the eve of the girls' birthday with cupcakes, and cousin Ruthi spent the night. I made them pink cupcakes with pink frosting to take to the park on their birthday. I let them have one after dinner on the 10th, and I quickly realized that the girls can't tolerate red dye. They haven't had much red dye because they don't really eat candy, juice, or kool aid. The pink cupcakes were full of red dye, and they both went crazy! We survived all of their craziness on the night before their birthday, and decided that they wouldn't be eating anymore pink cupcakes. Luckily, Aunt Brandi came to the rescue and made amazing replacement cupcakes! This is what we did for the day of their birthday:

The girls even woke up in good moods!

They must have known it was going to be a good day!

Cupcakes with lunch!

Aunt Brandi makes the BEST cupcakes!

Then we went to Zachary's Playground!

The girls loved the slides.

(I think Mamaw Ruth liked the slides too!)

I love this picture of Stella. She has her arms tucked into the swing!

WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Silly Emerson

Busy Stella

More swinging!

Enjoying the view with cousin Ruthi.

Birthday girls!

They were really interested in the geese.

After the park we went to Culver's for ice cream! It was a great day!
