March 22nd, 2008

We are sorry that we haven't posted for so long! Our lives have been a little bit crazy! Last weekend was mommy's birthday. I went shopping on Saturday and left James in charge. He did a great job! Then on Wednesday we went to the doctor for 6 month shots. Unfortunately, the girls also had to get their RSV shots that same morning and then they ended up getting their flu shots that afternoon too. It was a rough day! According to the scale at the doctor's office, the girls didn't gain any weight, but the doctor felt that they had gained weight and it was just the difference in scales. The doctor said that they were both where they needed to be on the growth curve, and they had both grown about 3/4 of an inch since our last update! Their heads are getting huge! The pediatrician was really happy about their head growth and said that it is a good indicator of healthy brain development. I had told many of you that I was going to try to skip cereal and wait a while on giving the girls baby food. Well, our pediatrician didn't agree with me, and said that developmentally, the girls are ready for cereal. So, the girls are now eating rice cereal once a day. Emerson loves her cereal, and Stella is starting to get the hang of it too. We will probably start offering veggies in a few weeks. Both girls found their voices this week too. They have both become very vocal. Stella laughed on Wednesday night! The best part is that we were able to get it on video (at the bottom of the blog.) Emerson has not laughed yet, but she seems to be getting close. They are both starting to suck on their hands a lot, and they both seem to be working on their first teeth. We are going to have another busy week this week. They will have their first Easter. Then they go back to Boone on the 27th for developmental clinic. We are really excited to take them back and show off our big girls! Then we will celebrate daddy's birthday on the 28th!

Why would you suck on your own hand, when you can suck on your sister's hand?!

Luke and I were watching the video of the girls eating and he started smacking his lips. I think it made him hungry!! The funny thing is he just ate an adult sized dinner. He is always hungry!! Loved the pictures!! Love, Beth
