We are getting really excited about experiencing Christmas with 2 year
olds this year! The girls love the Christmas trees. They call them "Mama's
pretties." We might be crazy, but we already put a few presents under our tree! So far, they haven't really messed with the presents, but we haven't left them alone with the presents either!
During the Holidays, we are constantly reminded of how blessed we are to have such wonderful friends and family. Like many young families, our family has had to make sacrifices for me to be able to stay home with the girls. James and I are able to provide for our family, but we rarely have anything extra to give the girls. Because of our amazing family and friends, our girls never want for anything. We are so thankful for the constant generosity and love that is given to us.
The girls seem to be changing every day. They are starting to look more like small children and less like babies. Stella says "thank you" without being prompted. It is so sweet. Stella is starting to talk more too. Some of her words are still difficult to understand, but we are so glad that she is finally using words! Emerson is learning to count, and is getting really good at it. Emerson is also starting to say "sorry" without being prompted. Both of the girls are learning how to fold their hands and pray before meals. When dinner doesn't get on the table fast enough, Emerson will fold her hands and say, "I want to pray!"
The girls managed to sneak onto their daddy's lap before the varsity game last night!

The girls climbed up into the chair together after baths this morning. It was precious.
Mamaw Ruth and Papaw Marty got the girls their own Nativity Scene. The girls have been very interested in my very breakable Nativity Scene, so it is great that they have one of their own!
They both like to talk about "Baby Jesus." I don't think they understand yet, but we are hoping to teach them the real reason that we celebrate Christmas.
They don't seem to understand who Santa is yet either. We also got them the claymation Rudolph movie (my personal favorite.) They didn't enjoy Rudolph as much as I had hoped.
An angel is supposed to sit on top of the Nativity Scene, but Emerson quickly figured out that any of the Little People figurines fit on top. She seems to think that the dog is supposed to sit on top instead of the angel! 2 year old Christmas is fantastic!
Stella, Emerson & Mister. Mister is Aunt Karen & Uncle Larry's dog. He is great with the girls. 
The girls call him "Bubby" instead of Mister.
Brianne & Jim came by to visit us this morning on their way back to Wyoming. We don't get to see them very often, but the girls always seem to remember Bri. Brianne & Brittni spent a lot of time helping me with the girls after they came home from the hospital. Emerson was so tired from the weekend that she kept falling asleep on Bri's lap.
