5 months old!
Can you believe that another month has passed? James and I are having a hard time believing that our babies are already 5 months old. Some days it seems like they were just born yesterday, and other days it seems like we have lived a lifetime since they were born. Last night, James and I were talking about the day they were born, and remembering everything we have gone through in the last five months. Looking back now, it is so easy to forget the uncertainty of those first few weeks and how frightened we were. Everytime we look at our beautiful, healthy daughters, it is very clear that we have been blessed! I don't really have any updates this week. James is sure that they have both grown several inches, and I am beginning to agree with him. Both of them are starting to smile and interact with us a lot more. The home health nurse will come this weekend to give them their RSV shots. We will know their weights after she has come, and we will be sure to post their weights asap.

We have had a big week! The girls are getting so big! I swear, we can see them growing! Over the weekend we decided to see how long they could sleep at night, and we got the results we were looking for. We are now feeding them at 10pm and then putting them to bed, and they are sleeping until 6am! We hadn't gotten a full night's rest since Thanksgiving, so we are feeling pretty good this week. The new formula that the girls are on is amazing. Stella has only had one projectile spit up episode in a week...it is a miracle! I think the medicine is also helping too. They both seem to be feeling better. We are really hoping that we can all stay healthy right now. It seems like everyone is sick. The girls and I are not leaving the house right now, but that isn't so easy for James. It will be difficult for him to stay healthy at school, but he is trying to be very careful.

Stella has finally reached 8 pounds! We went to the doctor yesterday for a check up for their acid reflux, and Stella weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and Emerson weighed in at 8lbs 12.5oz. The doctor decided to continue giving the girls Prevacid for their reflux, and also switched their formula. The new formula thickens in their stomachs, which should help with the spitting up (and hopefully will help save our furniture!) It seems like they are doing something new every day. They are both smiling and laughing more, and they are starting to make a lot of noises. Emerson seems like she may start rolling over pretty soon. Stella has rolled over once, but I think it may have been an accident! They are also taking big girl baths now! Emerson loves to sit in the water. She puts her arms up on the sides of her tub and relaxes. It is so funny! Stella doesn't like to get cold, so she likes her bath as long as she stays nice and warm. They haven't been waking up as much at night for the last few days, so James and I are hoping that they will start sleeping a little bit longer. James is still very busy with school and basketball, and would really like to have a snow day!

The girls both got their RSV shots on Sunday morning (which means they got weighed.) Emerson is 8lbs 7oz! Stella is 7lbs 9oz! They are getting so big! They have lost most of their hair. They both had a ton of dark hair when they were born, and now they look like Grandpa Benson! Emerson is wearing 0-3 month outfits now. Stella is still able to fit into newborn outfits. I would guess that she will be in size 0-3 in the next few weeks. They don't seem to be growing as fast as they were, but we are still having difficulty with their acid reflux. They will start Prevacid today, hopefully it will help. They are doing pretty good with sleeping longer at night, and so are mommy and daddy! James has been very busy with teaching and basketball. It will be so nice when the season is over, and he is home more! I officially resigned from my job last week. It was a difficult decision for me to take, but I know that it is important that I stay home with the girls right now. It is too big of a risk for them to be in daycare right now. I am going to miss all of my friends and coworkers at R-3 and Crider. Emerson and Stella would like to say, "Happy Birthday, Mamaw Ruth!"

GO COLTS!
Look at our big girls in their size 0-3 month outfits! They were so excited to wear their cheerleading uniforms for the big game, even if the game didn't go the way we had hoped.... They are learning what it means to be true fans (and will stay off of the Tom Brady bandwagon.) We still love Peyton and Marvin, and the girls are hoping that Peyton will have twin boys some day!

Happy four month birthday, Emerson and Stella!
I can't believe that our girls are already four months old! We are so blessed to have two beautiful, healthy babies! It is so easy to forget how it all began and how far they have come. We are so thankful for all of the prayers and support that we have received over the last four months. Here are some pictures of our tiny miracles:
